I just put a 350 in a '76 blazer. I got the engine started and drove the truck without the power steering hooked up. It drove as you can imagine without pier steering. Next, I connected the power steering. When I started the truck, the wheels immediately turn all the way to the left and you could not turn them back. Thinking maybe the valve is stuck in the gear box? I bumped on the gear box without any success. What can I do?

If bleeding it doesn't work, then the box needs to come apart and the valve needs to be cleaned or replaced.
Or put a different box in it.

Definitely something internal on steering box. Without pressure everything moves normal but with pressure one of the valves has to be stuck to keep pushing to the left. Hopefully you can find one cheap. I've never rebuilt one so I would personally buy a rebuilt one so I have a warrantee. Then go through the bleed out procedure as put above. Might be air in system now so you can try that first and maybe it will work itself out. Is it possible you have the pressure lines hooked in wrong. If its pushing fluid in reverse into the box it would do weird things too. Just a thought and I don't know that's even possible.

I had one do the same thing last summer,,, some bad valve in the steering box,,, napa rebuilt for $165 I think,, worked great.
