alright i got the idle problem fixed....all set...the hose that went to the EGR valve was junk....but now i have another problem....when i was swapping in the new steering box one of the lines was real bad but didnt leak so we left it...well today when i was stepping in the engine compartment i must of step on that because when i turned the truck on to see if the idle was set...and i jumped out i saw fluid on the ground...looked in the engine bay and saw fluid coming out of that aluminum hose and i can feel a crack in it.....

so how hard of a change is it??

the horrible arrow shows where it cracked

is the end of the aluminum hose flared??? would i be able to cut out the section then reflare it?

One end screws into the steering box, the other end screws into the back of the pump. I put one on our '94 Sub a few months ago in about 10 minutes and paid $20 for the new hose. :)

paid $10 for hose....went from pump to cooler....pretty easy

Alright, last night i blew a power steering hose, and it happens to be the same one I already replaced..

My question is, I`m almost positive its the pressure line, but i just want to make sure....

it goes from the box to the cooler, or some hardline under the radiator?

You piad $10 that was a cheap hose.
Buy the $20 hose it will last longer :D :haha:
Seriously if you blew it that fast it was either a defect and I would return it or a bad quality and i would buy the best they have, maybe a goodyear.

If that hose goes under the radiator it is the pressure hose and it is going to the factory PS cooler.

What he forgot to mention is that it is 15* outside and the truck was outside so i'm guessing the fluid frooze and when he started it the pressure burst the hose. That or a defective hose. I was PMing with him last night so i know more than most people who are only reading this post.

so the pressure hose should have two screwed ends on it??

when we replaced it last time, we hose clamped it onto the piece of hardline

which is the biggest hose of the two??? I just went out and looked, and the bigger hose goes from the box to the PS pump? isnt that the pressure line???

if it`s my return line, can i just re clamp in onto the hardline??? me and my buddy just inspected it, and nothing seems to be wrong with the hose??

Also, when i popped the hood, the fluid was milky/foamy, so that would mean it was low and/or had water/condensation in it, right?

well, its only the return side, so i`m going to check for damage, then cut and reclamp the line....
