I know others have had similar issues but can’t find any threads combating this.
I have an 89 JIMMY, Dana 60, crossover and high steer, with 35’s.
Running 4Low I can turn just fine at slow speeds since the Rpm’s are slightly higher. But running 4High at like 5-10mph where the rpm’s are low, turning is a real bitch. Sometimes I have to make a 4 point turn on a 60-75% turn.
Eventually I am going to do hydro assist but not within the next few years.
Is there a different power steering pump that puts out more line pressure that I can swap in? Would that even help?
What can I do in the short term to combat this?
