Power steering lines and O-rings

On my 1983 steering box, what is the deal with the O-rings? Do I need them, and if so, how many? I installed a new steering box and it started leaking. The new box came with a little bag with like 6 O-rings in it. I put the little O-rings onto the ends of the hoses where they go in the box and I thought that cleared up the leaking, but just today I noticed a few drips on the box. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I can't tell for sure where the leak is from, but I'm thinking it's still where the hoses attach. Should I be using even some more of the O-rings? The other ones are bigger and I'm not sure where they'd even go. Do they go inside the box at the fitting point or something?

Should be one per line.

Make sure you scraped out anything that was left over from the o-rings when you pulled the lines originally...they tend to come apart, wouldn't be surprised if part of one was still in there.

the o ring sits on very end of the line and is one per line, IE two rings per truck

80 and later used this style of ends and yes you have to use them with o ring style hoses lol

I noticed I got a couple little O-rings in the kit that are round like donuts, and another one that is the same diameter but more flat, like a band. Anyone know if that matters? I used the round ones on both lines so far.
