Ok, so that last part of my 454 install is getting the power steering going.

I bought this set of brackets for a long water pump:

Is something missing from them?

This seems to be the only way the slider bracket fits on the ps pump:

Is this the right pump for this application? Is was in the blazer with the old 350.

I know the other bracket bolts into the block on the two holes you can see here and the one around the side...then the slider bracket bolt should go through the mount in the water pump right?

If I have the wrong ps pump can someone point me to the right one for these brackets....or, the right brackets.

THANKS!!!

I believe you have everything correct. GM also built a remote reservoir power steering pump. The pump is the same. The reservoir is the only difference.

the bottom bracket looks like it need a long pivot bolt to go through it and the pump somehow....there's no holes on the pump for a bolt like that. ???

The top bracket in the first picture is indeed correct, but it's weird.

The hole in the bracket (upper-right corner in your pic) goes to a stud on the back of the pump. The bit that sticks up, in your pic, with one hole goes into the bottom of the block (3/8" bolt with a 9/16" head) in a way that is uniquely painful and irritating to access. :haha:

I went through this when I converted my sixpack to hdyroboost; I didn't know it was possible to remove the $*@&*$@ pump so many times.

Anyway, the two holes in the upper-left of your pic are, hmm, prolly 7/16" bolts with 5/8" heads and they go into the front of the block.

Lemme see if I have pix, 'cuz what I said may not make sense...

Nope, no good pix. If you REALLY need it, I can try and get some, but it'd be a pain 'cuz the truck is parked in the muck :haha:

Note that the stud is part of the hinge mechanism you rotate the pump on to tension the belt.

Re-reading your post, you have it right ... the front bracket is bolted on the pump correctly, and has a 1/2" bolt (3/4" head) that goes into the front of the water pump.

That maybe I can get a pic of without having to get under the truck...

I recomend you forget the GM brackets. Get some March Perfomance Pulleys brackets. I had trouble with the belt alignment and it was making awful squealing every time I turned the wheel. So I got the March bracket and haven't looked back ever since. :waytogo:

Bring this one back up from the dead. Anyone know if its possible to use the March Bracket with my 82`s hydroboost steering pump.
