Power steering problem

Did the cross over and now my power steering is poor. When its cool it works great but as it gets hot it gets worse and worse. I was thinking of adding a cooler and changing to tractor hydralic fluid. Do the pump mods really work? Any other ideas?

After I did my crossover, I was also unimpressed with the performance - installed a new pump with the "mods" and a cooler and everything is much better........

I am guessing the cooler goes on the return. I have a oil cooler that came on the truck that I will plumb in. Then I will mod the pump and my change to hydralic fluid.
