My gf's best friend needs a brake job bad. I volunteered to do the labor.
I was looking on Rock Auto and there's a line of brakes called Power Stop. Normally I'm a fan of Raybestos stuff but this Power Stop has a package deal with four rotors and four sets of Ceramic pads for over $120 cheaper than the Raybestos set.

Note that her 2007 Camry came new with ceramic pads so we are sticking with those.

I've just never heard of this Power Stop brand. Anybody have experience with it?

I'm thinking that everyone who tried them is not able to answer..............

But what the heck, how bad can they be???? After all, its your GF's best friend, not your GF, so the downside is not that bad...

Unless she is hotter than your GF....... If so, then use the good stuff on her's and the Power Stops on your GF's car.

Just saying

So everyone who has used them is dead and unable to post? I think another likely answer is that PowerStop doesn't offer rotors for square-nose Chevies.

Have you checked RockAuto? Sometimes they get closeouts and such where rotors are cheaper shipped to you than they are purchased locally. IME, cheap rotors still stop the car. The question is in how long they will last. I haven't heard horror stories of cheap rotors breaking and detroying other parts or causing wrecks - except for cheap cross-drilled ones. Your performance is more in the pads. So when people are buying and selling cars a lot or generally seem oblivious to long-term maintenance, I don't push them into top-quality rotors. They're all throw-aways now anyway.

I found that brand on Rock Auto. Their package of 4 rotors and four sets of ceramic pads are about $120 less than the Raybestos stuff I run.

Buy it.... It's all warrantied, anyhow... :dunno:

One of the things I've learned,in regards to mechanic jobs,
Is that 'low budget' customers will buy the part that MIGHT NOT work... Just to save a buck.

I don't get it, but it's not my wallet.

I've got them on the blazer. They have been on there for years, and no issues. Been through a few sets of brake pads and thats it.

also keeping in mind that just because there is an unknown name on the box it doesnt mean its a new company, we have a couple of bosch warehouses where some of my friends have worked at and they cant believe how mant different so called brands come out of there, from autozone to delco, different boxes same product
