Ok, went to change out my drivers side power window motor, assumed it would be something relatively easy and quick, apparently, I am mistaken.

First question, I bought a used window motor, are the drivers and passangers side motors different? Seem to of gotten the same one.

Second, I can feel inside, but even in the good door, where the power window works, I cannot for the life of me figure out how the hell it mounts.(Drivers had no motor at all when I got the truck)

How the hell am I supposed to do this? Lol

Kind of urgent, doors are apart, cant spend all day doing this, job interview, so any help would be awsome.

Ya gotta take out all of the window regulator. If you are changing only the motor, BE CAREFUL OF THE REGULATOR...IT IS SPRING LOADED! You have to lock it inplace or it will hurt!
I think there are two maybe three bolts that hold it to the inside of the door and one that goes thru the edge of the door.

What does the regulaor look like, I dont know if I even have it or not. I can feel the whole edge of the passanger sidemotor, feel all the holes along its edge, none feel like they have anything in them..im so confused, lol.

Thanks for that link, it helps a bit as far as not needing to take the window out, which is nice, and explaining what the regulator is. I still have some questions though.

Are the motors for the passanger/driver side windows different, or just flipped around to get the window to go in the right direction?

How do the motors mount??? In the door without the motor, I can feel the hole where I assume the gear goes into, but for the life of me I cant figure out how the actual motor mounts?????

Thanks
Steve

I can't remember how the motor is mounted to the regulator, but I do remember before you unbolt it, you have to drill and bolt the regulator so it won't let the spring unwind.
Remember the DC motor is reversable, and the direction of rotation is done in the door switch.

i have power windows already, just looking to put a new motor in, butthe old motor was already out, so I dont know how it mounts.

All this is going to require is to keep the glass in the closed position, take out the regulator, attach motor to it, and reboltthe regulator??

Also, Are There Different Motors for the passanger and drivers side as far as installation goes?

If you look at the link provided above, on the "second" page, the fourth pic down on the left shows the motor bolted to the regulator. The three "bolts" shown hold the motor to the regulator.
Good luck!

And I was wrong, the left side and right side motors are different. At least they have different part numbers.

Lovely, lol and I still cant see how the motor mounts to the regulator.

In my passanger door I can feel the whole of the power window motor, I can feel every hole around the edge, none of them have any bolts in it, so im very confused on how to mount them.

I see what you are looking at, the motors with different par numbers are the motors from 77-81, I have a 91, which the motor is the same for both sides, part number
38-6569, I didnt recieve that plate that is in th picture with it though, is that needed to mount it?

Thanks, I dont seem to have the bracket on my regulator, didnt pull it out, but neither me nor my father felt anything like that in the door, so im on the lookout for one now.
