My 83 Burb's power windows are giving me fits. The only window that works correctly (sort of) is the back passenger window. The problem with all the windows is the motors. The drivers motor works great, but isn't installed. The rear driver side rolls half way down before grinding. The forward passenger moved about 1/2" before stopping. My question is, how in the world do you remove and install the motor. I fought with the front and rear motors for an hour today before getting mad enough to quit. The factory service manual, Chilton's, and Haynes all look like a 3 year old drew the diagram from a crappy angle. HELP!!!

Can't help with the motor portion, but sounds to me like it's the mechanism. If the motors didn't work they wouldn't work...if the motor moves the window a certain distance and stops, it's pretty likely the tracks or the rollers are screwed up.

I'm not sure about the passenger window not rolling down. It could very well be the track. My main concern is getting the driver's side window motor mounted so I can acually roll the window down. Right now its just flopping around in the bottom of the door. Can someone explain to me how to actually bolt the motor in? Thanks!
