embarassed to admit this but I can't seem to get this mod working correctly.

This is the schematic I was working off.

This is how I ended up wiring it. The only way it would work was if I had power passing through the switch which seems to kinda defeat the purpose of the relays.

I checked the wiring like ten times and even tried different relays but nothing worked until I put power back into the switch.

What am I missing here? Seems to me that the relays should switch the power between the blue and brown wire depending on how to pressed the window switch. Without power run to the switch nothing was happening.

Am I seeing it correctly that you cut the factory power wire? If so, that is wrong. I don't see where you have new, 10 gauge power and ground wires coming into the door. The only wires that get cut are the ones going to the window motors.
The factory wiring and power ends up controlling the relays. The new larger power and ground wires give less voltage drop when the motors are working to move the glass.

I don't have factory power anymore as I rewired my whole truck. I did cut the factory power wire (pink) in the door and ran it to the relay. The 12 v power for the door comes directly from the fuse panel I installed.

I ran it with the power coming in directly to the relays and the switches with no power and they wouldn't work. They only worked when I ran 12 v directly to the switch and the relay. I didn't try in with no power to the relay but I would guess it would work too. I don't think my relays are working at all (in the system). I can't remember how slow these windows were as mine haven't worked in a while. But they seem slow.

So, from what I understand, leave power to the switch and just run the window controls through the relay? What goes to 87a? I thought that was power from my fuse panel

I think I may have discovered the difference. Please correct me if I am wrong. I have gutted my truck and replaced all the electrical. I have no power going to the door windows or locks at all. This schematic is a supplement to stock wiring. Meaning you leave the stock power to the switch and simply insert the relay into the up and down and power the relay. The way I have it, while working isn't taking full advantage of the relay.

Question is, should I be running two separate feeds into the door. One to power the switch, one to power the relay? That seems excessive. Do I still need to run 10 gauge to the switch or could I run 18 gauge? Not sure what amp load it is drawing, now that the relay is involved. I will have to throw a clamp meter on it.

Anyone?

Yes, 18 GA to the switch should be fine for the power to operate the relays . But, yes, that schematic is to supplement the factory wiring. You have to have power to control the relays, then the high current to the motors is going through the relays.
