Ok I am just about to finish switching from carb to TPI. Question is I have the battery power wire from the old distributor left over, I need to hook up the main battery power wire to the ECM should I use the old power wire or should I run a new one from the battery? How is the power wire to the distributor run at the factory? Is it fused? Thanks

I looked at your profile, you show a 77 Blazer as your vehicle. The distributor wire for a 77 Blazer should have Battery (+) power directly from the ignition switch (no fuse) when the ignition switch is in either the "ON" or "Start" position.

I would recommend hooking up the TPI main Battery (+) wire directly to the battery (+) terminal with a 15 amp inline fuse.

You still need that wire to go to the + coil for the TPI distributor. That portion is independent of the TPI harness.

Ya, I just figured that part out last night. I have two sets of instructions one goes into more detail, I just happened to see the part about using it for the coil. Wiring it right now. Thanks for your input.
