Powerstop brake upgrade? Or what else?

We sell power stop at 4wp and they have always been good quality.
Personally in my 04’ I put brakemotive rotors and pads with stock calipers. It’s been great for towing the Jimmy around. I put them through a full workout towing without trailer brakes :doah:
I’m also running about a 33” tires.
 
I put the powerstop kit on both my 04 SS and the 08 Tahoe. Fantastic upgrade on both trucks. The tape is a heavy girl and they made a substantial difference.
 
I really like the Raybestos EHT pads. I have them on the front of my Xterra and the wife's Malibu. They will be going on my K2500 soon with the Raybestos slotted rotors.
 
Aren't Powerstop calipers just stock calipers painted? In the past I had poor results using drilled/slotted rotors in the salt. Typically "zinc" coating didn't mean much, but there are some better coatings going on these days - electroplating or something. The ones on my DD have been through 2 full salt winters now and look fine. You might search for more details on exactly what they're using. Technically newer pads don't outgas much and holes/slots are reducing the swept surface area, which is why some consider it just for looks. Easy to find heated debates on that topic.

I think the #1 upgrade for any setup is a bigger rotor, but I don't know if that's available and/or possible with 16" rims. You might have the biggest factory brake option already.
 
I've had great luck with brakeperformance.com parts on 2 corvettes, g37s, 350z, and 2 diesel trucks.
I used them on a g6 like 10 years ago. Also had amazing results. Only downside was using dimpled you’d hear the hum of air when driving next to a retaining wall. I’ve gone drilled since then.
 
I should add this truck wont be driven in the winter...summer work truck duty!
Ive checked the Powerstop full kits on Rock auto, but can do better by splitting up the kits on Amazon and Rock.
Amazon doesnt require cores either.
The brake performance kits look good, they suggest metallic pads for maximum performance....supposedly minimal dust.
Their calipers are expensive though.
From what Ive read for this application the calipers are all rebuilt factory units...mine rears are not applying fully or evenly, and the rear rotors have delamination happening.
Does anybody in USA make their own?
Seems the brakeperformance rotors, pads, hardware kits are a good deal right now, but calipers are expensive to add on, or need to source somewhere else. The Powerstop kits are complete for a much better price, and they’re complete matched kits.
Ive read that drilled rotors tend to fatigue crack around the holes when used in heavy applications?
 
Thats what Im thinking too, just the slots and I wished Powerstop offered black or even silver calipers.
Brakeperformance has lifetime warranty on their dimpled and slotted rotors for warpage and lifetime on defects for rotors and pads. The slotted rotors only have 2 yr warpage and lifetime defects.

I've run the powerstop drilled and slotted rotors on my '12 1500 for 2 years now and 20k miles. It's my daily in the winter and the coating on the rotors have held up decently. As good if not better than others I've had on it. I was also worried about the rotors cracking at the holes and so far so good. I really think the internet blows that out of proportion.

That’sa much bigger deal on rigs where the brakes are getting used to the extreme. You’d have to be putting some heated long brakes into a set of rotors on a typically pickup truck
 
Like towing a trailer through the rockies?
 
I’ve been really happy with EBC products. I put their “green” pads on the K5 and i did their “yellow” pads and slotted rotors on the tow pig. Both stop excellent.
 
I’ve used regular Powerstop stuff on several cars with great results. Haven’t had any on trucks yet though.
When the Yukon or Silverado need brakes I’ll probably go Powerstop.
