Who is the guru on this site about these carbs? I have a pair and need to identify which ones I have. There are four different part numbers and no visible numbers of said part numbers on the carbs. I also want to know if the carbs are a certain type or not.

I know MUDJUNKIE ran them but its been a long while since he was on here last time. Anybody else know much about these?

I used to run a Predator a loooong time ago. I ran the straight up "race" version but have seen one with an idle circuit. There were also alcohol versions but I've never seen one to identify the difference.

They are a fun carb but EXTREMELY vulnerable to dirty fuel.

Got any pics?

I need to know how to identify the idle circuit.

My setup is chrome, on a Weiand blower top plate.

Here's a pic I found real quick in Google images. the idle circuit is the brass screw on the side opposite of the accelerator pump. I tried to help a guy tune an idle circuit carb once, the screw didn't seem to make much difference to me.

I don't know what your plans are but... If you plan to run duals fine but if you plan to run a single I highly recommend keeping the 2nd for parts, etc. I'm sure you know these are getting scarce, especially nice carbs. Also, those bellcranks are tough to find so don't separate them from the carbs.

Again, these are very touchy about dirt so use a good filter. Just the brown film from dirty fuel can shut one down. The good news is, 10 minutes and a can of carb cleaner will have it running as good as new.

I've often thought about going back to a Predator, it's a fun carb. If you decide to sell one, let me know.

No plans yet. Just snatched these because they're so clean, rebuilt and chrome. And the price was right. Plus the bell cranks are there, too. I know about a lot of used Preds missing the parts, cranks, etc. so this setup here seemed like a good score. Even better score now that I found out they've both got the idle circuit.

Right now they're on the island in my kitchen looking like man cave decoration. Who knows what will become of them some day?

Sweet!

Put them up on the fireplace mantle. If you don't have a fireplace, build one so you can put them on the mantle.:pimp::thumb:

No mantle, no fireplace. How about the rolling wine rack in the corner of the dining room?

572's would be built from tall decks.

10.200" from crankshaft center line. Standard blocks are 9.800" from center.
