Does anyone make one with the proper adapter for our reservoirs? I'm not interested in making my own out of a garden sprayer right now.

Are you happy with it? Reviews on Amazon are mixed, like getting a good seal at the reservoir is painful.

Yeah its not to bad, the amount of fluid it holds I can do all 4 corners. I just use a c-clamp on it, that seals it up pretty good. Never have used the chains that came with it.

I'll get some drops of brake fluid from the adapter after taking it off, but I just throw a rag under the mc to catch it. I also park the vehicle so the mc is level, I've had a little fluid spill out the back of the reservoir.

Ryoken has a nice set up I've seen him talk about. I think his was vacuum operated.

yup, I much prefer a vac setup... I just find it to be an easier, neater, etc way...

plus I have a 1/2 dozen units at work free to use.. tho they only run about $50 to 75 or so anyway..

Yeah I think I'd go with the vacuum set up.

Ryoken, is there a on/off valve on the hose? And what brand is it?

they come with little "pinch off" clamps on those (you can see the blue plastic of it at the top of the hose)..... we adapt all kinds of different hoses to those things as you can see... :haha:

there are quite a few brands.. that's a Moeller iirc...

eh, here's a larger one from them for 90..

these kind work fine at about 1/2 the price.. but we don't use em cuz they don't hold well to the rigors of daily oil changes..

here's a cheap attwood that works well...

there's another I actually like better than the moellers that's a bit cheaper, trying to find it here..

here it is.. the SUCK UP! :haha:

I tried bleeding with a mityvac and never got it to work well. Seems like you can suck air around the threads on the bleeder. Is there a trick to get around that?

Looking at the pressure bleeders, it seems like all you need is a flat piece of aluminum tapped for air, a sheet of rubber to seal, then plug it into an air compressor regulated to a low setting like 20 psi. Putting brake fluid in the pressure thing sounds like a huge mess waiting to happen.

I used one of these before . works good .

can vac or pressure fill.

only problem we had with it was super slow fill or drain time. pulled the top and found suction tube from top to bottom was hair to long and pinching off at the bottom . I shaved a bit off and put 3 little notches in the bottom of the tube .

reassembled it and WOW did it work so much better. :thumb:

well, you could pull the bleeder first and grease the threads, but I've never had an issue... ya just don't want it that loose, where it's wobbling in the thread.. should only need a turn out tops..

that's what I had for yr's back in the day, till a fellow mechanic ran it over with a cement mixer... :doah: :haha:

seems that's about 1/2 the price they use to be...

That's the one I have, or very similar anyway. Never got a good bleed with it. I guess I could try again... nothing to lose but brake fluid. My brakes are ridiculous after the 1-ton swap. Pedal will go nearly to the floor. I'm not sure how much to blame on the bleeding vs. wrong sized master, etc, but I'm sure bleeding is part of the problem.

got mine from autozone the only thing ive had to do is replace the clear tubing

I have the Mityvac and found that it works better if you don't build up an excessive amount pressure (suction).

After my 1 ton swap I gravity bled my brakes..... Just rotated the calipers so the bleeder screw points straight up, and keep the master cylinder full...
Bucket under the caliper to catch the drips.....and let er rip!

Worked perfect..!

What I don't understand about pressure bleeders is how you keep the moisture from shop air from getting in your brake fluid.

I guess you could use a real good air line drier at the unit itself... My choice for stuff like this is nitrogen..... I do A/C work for a living so I chuck up a nitrogen regulator with a nylon hose to the bottle and connect it to my bleeder tank...

The bottle make a nice portable way to run my air tools on the trail or on the side of the road also... :D

Thats what i use too. Looks like they changed the lid to AL. Mine is plastic, and the little chains sucked.

My plastic lid broke trying to get a seal with the chains. They replaced it though. Didn't know they had an aluminum lid now. I'm gonna see if I can
order it and upgrade mine.:waytogo:
