I'm leaving for california from florida in two weeks, and I wanted to know what i need to take a look at to make sure I get there without any problems. Here's what I've done so far:

flush all fluids
install tranny temp gauge
purchased extra belts
cleaned and adjusted carb
greased drive shafts ball joints and tie rod ends
install mechanical Oil pressure gauge

any reccomendations you have would be greatly appreciated

might wanna check ur wheel bearings if you haven't lately. Dont forget to bring some spare fluids (esp oil/tranny), fuses etc. Check your u-joints... dunno.. is this entire trip gonna be on-road? Might be a good idea to retorque your wheels lug nuts, inspect tires for punctures, tread depth, air pressure etc. Have a buddy watch while you try all the brake/head/warning lights to make sure they are all a-ok. Thats all i can think of right now. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Carry enough tools/spare parts to fix anything.
Chiltons/Haynes manual
check the spare, jack, 4-way etc
check: battery, wipers, lights, fan clutch, rad. hoses, brakes, fuel pump, starter, alternator
change all filters...uh...just make sure the truck is in excellent working order...

make sure you got air in your spare tire, id even check the brakes (pads, shoues). /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
