That's the kind of uneducated and close-minded bullsh*t attitude that the sport doesn't need. It's along the same lines as having a Calvin pissing on (name your brand vehicle here)sticker on your rig.

Before you get up on your soapbox and preach about stuff that you don't know about, you might want to don the thinking cap and educate yourself on the ways of others in the offroad sport.

You are absolutely no better than anyone else who decides to bounce around the desert on a Saturday afternoon, or the fire breathing big block beast in nose deep mud. Those guys and gals spend the same amount of blood, sweat, tears and $$$$ as you do to enjoy what the type of wheeling they do.

Disrespecting someone and calling them names just because they don't fit your tiny opinion of what hardcore wheeling is all about is a bunch of crap and needs to stop.

I got all my body work, and paint done for $400 and it was worth every penny. I'm working on bumpers and sliders to help. If you drive a little more carefully, and don't mind a little damage you'll make it out OK. I don't climb 5' rocks either though. But I bet that chromed out truck would be fun as hell to trash!!! Oh ya one more thing, the more losers who buy all those parts only lower the price, and spur on further development. While leaving all the 14FF's, 465's, and 205's for guys like us. So we really should thank them for letting us get our parts cheaper (and prettier). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

it seems to me that we have run into a sort of pissing match between the different "wheelers"...we have the sand runners- we have the mud runners- and we have the rock crawlers- now lest we not forget those like me.......the pavement folk......

I've said it once and I'll say it again- if its not yours- dont worry about what is done with it. If I want to spend $7500 bucks on a paint job- who are you to tell me it was a stupid idea.

If you want to hack up your fenders- dent your truck, cover it with trail carnage- you will NEVER hear me tell you your an idiot for doing so...I respect what each one of us builds/buys our rigs for, which is the way it should be.

The last time I checked, I have respect for the different facets of wheeling and the people who are involved and do my little part by promoting the sport as a whole in my endeavors instead of spouting off a bunch of half thought-out, uneducated opinions without the forethought of actually coming up with a solid and well thought-out explanation to back up those opinions.

I always though there was more to wheelen then just rock crawling too. Like the contest(like the one ramsesy puts on) has sever types mud trials articulation stuff and if there was sand aroud I bet they would do that too.

There is a lot more to desert racing than just racing. Have ya ever heard of a prerunner? Everyone has their own definitions and opinions, but in general it is a part of the desert that you have no idea about. These are they yahoos that you have referred to in the past.

In general, what you are missing are the people, just like you or me, who modify their vehicles for a specific area of expertise. Whereas you spend time and money to prepare and build your truck to tackle rocks bigger than small cars, the prerunner crowd builds their vehicles to go blasting through the desert; to take whoops at speed and to take large bumps with ease. These vehicles are mostly Toyotas and Fords in the 2wd variety, with the occassional Chevy thrown in for good measure.

These trucks do not race, they are just for fun like you do on the rocks, but in a different area.

There are vendors and shops that specialize in this area supplying these wheelers with parts just like ORD and 4x4Iron supply the rockcrawler.

So there you have it, it's not just racing, but a whole world that apparently you are not aware of but with this tidbit of information; I hope you are somewhat awakened to the fact that everything you do is not racing.

So what you are saying is that those that like mud and sand are all NON-Wheelers.( in a nice way..BS)..Because I have seen many trucks that are built the same as rock crawlers and For anyone person to say that they aren't TRUE wheelers that is wrong..IMHO

I like going places ya just can't get to in a pavement princess. I explore a forest. Got mud and rocks, and lots of tree's. Sure I'm on trails alot, but I've been known to make a few trails myself becouse some hill looks intresting, and I think I can get through the tree's with only knocking down a few small ones. Don't have a desert for high speed running, but do have the plains and the Bad Lands. Only thing is that it all turns to mud if it rains.

DAMN!!! I have never seen so many people get so mad about what they read on a F'N computer screen, you guys need some damn ritalin! who cares what you do, do it, and enjoy it! I like all aspects of wheeling, but you don't hear me crying because the big guy is talkin about what he thinks desert racing should be called. hell I'm even looking into building a 2wd early 2nd gen chevy just for this, as soon as my rockcrawler is to my liking. Zakk is pretty cool, and I have no problems with him, nor anyone else. but just becuase his word for prerunning is racing and my word for it is fun, doesn't mean I'm gonna cry in his fawkin beer!........damn......this chit is funny /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

dam straight on scott, i did get it from a 4 wheeler mag, nice chorme roll bar and everything, my roll bar on my truck is chrome, its kinda stupid that some yahoo painted it black before i bought the roll bar, well it was only 40$ for my roll bar, who am i to complain /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

What my problem is someone who rants and raves and disrespects people with some holier than thou attitude. If you need a refresher, read up on "Zakk101, People Who Play in the Desert Are Not Worthy of Being Called Wheelers." You said it, I didn't and I'm calling you on it.

Now I'm sure you were to take a cross section of the wheeling community, polled them on what you said to illicit such a response, I will safely say that a majority will take it the same way.

This is the way I have taken it, another one of your snide remarks (second time I've read this stuff from you) towards people who don't wheel like you do. If I am wrong and you are just joking around and pulling chains, then you might want to let the world in on your game.

Damnit Ican't find my thing, if you have seen the picture of the kid running hte special olympics and it says "Racing a honda is like running in the special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded." I have one thats the same but says "Fighting on the internet is like running in the special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded." No offense bubba but you kind of come out with a holier than you attitude saying thigns like "you are what is wrong wtiht he wheeling community". Not too many posts into my being here you came at me with that. You could explain and say things a lot better than that. And yeah he was slightly disrespectful but everyone is allowed to have their opinions and if someone can't handle that other peoples opinions are different then maybe they need to relearn being a freethinking human.
