was out at my grandpas building a lean to, and i saw a k5 off in the distance parked behind a shed at the end of some guys property, put out to pasture so to say. from a distance i could tell it was a 70's model and it had a roll cage, which is what i want. well as i get close i notice its a full covertable which i have been looking for. so for what i could see it was an auto with a 203 case because there were no nobs to lock the hubs, paint was done not to long ago but had the typical cancer on the fenders and rot on the upper wheel well. interior looks nice and is complete. newer tires and chrome rims

so what would you offer someone for that? i was thinking get ahold of it and drive it as is until the other k5 is finished and then rebuild this one.

any thoughts?

Depending upon the position of the k5, whether its parked with weeds grown all around it $200-$500. If it even remotely looks like the owner may use it $500-$800.
I always have my eyes peeled for trucks parked in backs of farms and have scored many for cheap. But alot of people would rather thier truck just rots. Good luck and be sure to have the cash in your hand when knocking on the door, start waving 100 dollar bills in thier face and their opinion changes real fast.

ya it hasent been parked there long, and it has current tags on it collector tags expiring in 2013

what year did they change the floor boards on the k5's if i can score just the roll bar i will be happy but i cant remember when they switched over. i guess i could just extend the legs

77 was the last year of that floor design. 78 is when they gave the back seat passengers somewhere to put there feet. But ya, just extend the legs on the rollbar.

X2, old K5's aren't worth much (unless they're super clean).

Heck even then they aren't worth that much. People try to sell them north of 6-7K because that's what the book value says but they rarely get that much from what I've seen.

cheap + cool = good - in my book. That's part of why these trucks are so appealing.

i paid 1500 for my 73. heres what it looked like back then. 36" swampers on mt 15" rims, d44 6 lug, crate GM 350,np203, ext. but this is ca. you cant find them for much less than 1000

Hey Gorilla, didn't you have a white Blazer where a tree fell across the back or was that someone else?

Yeah you, caught me. . . the Blue and White one (was all white). . . I have been busy this year. . . . It's not perfect, but it looks pretty good form a distance. . .

I figured it was your "go" blazer but I couldn't tell from the picture. Looks good.

I got a show Blazer, now I need a go Blazer (K10,K20 would work too).
