Buddy has a Dana 44 front out of a 73-ish Chevy 3/4 ton, has 4.56s in it. Rear is already sold, and truck is crushed by now I'm sure. He kept the front end, I need/want the outers for my 44, but told him that I'd try to sell the rest for him. So what is it worth if it is just the axle/shafts/gears?? $100? $150??

Its gotta be worth at least $100, lots of people would be interested in the 4.56 gears if they are setup correctly.

They are factory, so would think they are. I'll pull the cover and see what they look like....

Do the knuckles come with it? If so, they should be flat tops and are worth $150 or so by themselves.

That is assuming that this is an open knuckle front, I don't know when GM switched.

Yeah it's open knuckle. GM started them in 71, 72 the latest. I'm gonna snag from the knuckles out, and they are flattops. I need these for my EB44 that I'm building for my S-10, if I ever build it. I can get that stuff for nothing if I sell the axle. Might sell the whole thing just to help him out....

I've heard of them, but never seen them till this one. Says it right on the tag, can't remember what the ring/pinion count is, but says "4.55" right on it. I'll see if I can get a pic of it...
