Price help 55 Chevy

Found this 55 Chevy for sale, haven't seen it yet, no idea what interior looks like but it's a straight 6 running condition. Base model. What would you pay? I want to paint it and change the wheels but what's a good asking price?

Looks clean. I.would.have to.say 7-9.from what I.see at shows and looking around.

But he prob wants 12+

I cant give an estimate,but the car looks real nice,and will probably not be cheap!...a friend of mine sold his '57 Belair he had since the 70's for 18K a few years ago,and it was not a perfect example,it had some rot repair and a so-so paint job,and a non original built 350 V8 in it...shows what a car like that here can sell for,just because there aren't any left to choose from really ..

Looks like a 235 straight six,and someone evidently adapted an HEI distributor to it somehow?...those engines are very torquey,I had one in a '56 Chevy pickup,everyone who rode in it was surprised to see a straight six under the hood--they all assumed it was a V8 because you could lug it down to 10 mph in third and step on the gas,and it would take right off,with no bucking or pinging...the "Blue Flame" 235 was used in the '53 Corvette too...too many people rip out the original six and put a V8 in the old chevys..its only original once!..

Yeah, looks like a 4 door with the rear doors welded shut and filled over...worth about $1000 if it is IMO. The giveaway is the rear quarter window, 4 door only.

I wouldn't give the guy more then $500 bucks for it. As already stated that is a 4 door with the 2 rear doors welded shut. I hate 4 doors and hate it even more when people try to make them 2 doors. Total pos imho but it is your call

yes it's a 4 door but that doesn't make it a POS
makes it look kinda funny and not popular
but you're talking about someones car that might actually be pretty nice in person

Prices fluctuate everywhere, I'm sure my area is way higher than the average. While this would be a cheaper option to get into a 50s chevy, it wouldn't be my choice for the reasons already stated

It's not worth $500. He's asking 4k but what you can't see in the pictures is tons of rust and fractures in the body. It's junk. Thanks for the info guys but I'm gonna pass

A local guy has his grandmas 4 door 55. He saved the back door handles and it has a full cage with a pretty wicked sbc in it. I don't mind how it looks but I wouldn't seal the rear doors.

There's a black on black 55 210 four door for sale here for $6000. Really clean survivor, it's been on CL for about a year or so. I'd find one that hasn't been messed with. That blue one was a pile, you can find much better stuff for that kind of money.
