What would be a reasonable prce for a stock 81 1 ton with no motor? i just want all the running gear including trans

Robert

Hard to say without knowing more about the truck. I guess the equivalent of the cost of a D60 + 14 bolt in your area?

60 up front with 14 ff in back 4.10 gears with 205 t-case bolted to turbo 400. I can get entire truck minus the orginal 454 motor

again...

Hard to say without knowing more about the truck.

Reg 2 door long bed or...?

Is the body good?

If the body is fair enough to have value, lots of options or base model?

Wrecked?

Is the trans supposed to be good?

etc...

Lots of variables in this case. Condition of the body will come into effect. Registration. Does it currently have registration or is it several years out? Interior. Is it good or rotted out?. The number one question is does the seller know the value of a Dana 60?

I came across a DRW 79 K30 a few years ago. No engine/TH400/203/D60/D70 with a rough body. I got it for $200 cause the guy who had it laying in his trashed out yard was hard up for a bag of meth. Focking junkie was so hard up for dope and had no clue as to what he had sitting in his trash heap. I simply walked up and pounded on his camper and yelled out $200 for the truck! His tweeker ass bounced out of there and made the deal real quick. Point is if the idiot knew the value I would have never got it for $200. I need to go pay that dude a visit and see if he has anything else now that I think of it. :D :haha:

as to the body looks good(ie only seen pics) he says it ran fine before engine was pulled and its a long bed crew cab(long sob). i would hope that i could make a little money of the rest of the truck. i would just sell it for parts i live in california and screw reg and vin numbers are a pain in the ass

if its all in goood shape and all id say in the 1000 dollar range.problem is you dont know the condition of the components without a running engine to check it.ive seen them go for a few hundred dollars if the body is shot.junkyard wont give more than 2-300 for a vehicle.definitely need to know if it has clear title and all.if it doesnt and you just need parts and they look good it would be worth a grandeither way.problem is gettin rid of the carcass after you pull the parts.body parts can get sold seperate, but cab and frame will be an issue if you are trying to scrap it after.

If the guy knows the value of individual items then I would say

dana 60 = $600srw or $400drw
14b = $100
Good th400 = $300
205 depending on spline and patter = $150-350

A tub/bed and frame I'd say $500

If hes dumb offer $500, if hes smart off $1000 and go up to say $1400

I think 1000 would be a fare price, but I`d like to see you get it for 500,or less. Good lucK!!
