PRICE QUOTE ON TRANNY? AVERAGE?

THIS IS IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA. TH350 WITH A STANDARD TORQUE CONVERTER AND WHAT THEY CALLED A STANDARD SHIFT KIT- $895 + TAX. (THEY HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS LOCALLY SINCE 1965) They quoted $100.00 extra for an upgrade to a better converter. Does this sound good for a quality shop?

here in el paso tx they charge 550 to rebuilt a tranny at a good quality shop so 800 sounds a little steep to me but i dont know how they are compared to the rest of the compatition

Sounds high for a TH350. You can get a 700 for not much more than that.

in Milwaukee, WI I just got a quote (last week) for a 350 turbo tranny is $325 if you drop it off and pick it up (tranny alone) a shift kit is a $75 option. The 700 tranny is $650 if you drop it off and pick it up; 1-2 day turn aroung time

In Portland, Oregon paid $650 for a T350 rebuild with a Dash 2 shift kit, shifter linkage bushings, price included R&R from truck, as well as pressure washing transfer case, resealing and changing lube in transfer case, as well as adjusting the shift linkage in TC. Good price for all that, but he messed up the shift linkage portion........not a big deal, adjusted it myself
