The only down side with customization is the fact it doesn't work on 3rd party apps like tapatalk.

Gotcha. Figured it was something like that, but that particular one never came to mind. Never used Tapatalk.
If I ever break down and get one of those overpriced fragile smartphones, I'll have to give it a try.

May I say a few words here? :dunno: First of all, I would like to say thanks to everyone that visits and or supports or has every supported the site, it's truly a great community!

As far as "needing" the site etc. it's true there is car/truck info all over the net for free, but I would like to think that CK5 is "more" than just info. It's a great place to hang out, set plans to meet people in the real world, share experiences etc. Many times it's not what can I get from CK5 but what can I give... there are many people here that have given of there experience, given of their time, and given of their resources to help other Members, there are some truly amazing giving people here... or simply made us laugh.

Let's face it, we all "buy" things we don't "need" or that we can get for free elsewhere, things like going out to dinner comes to mind, a lot of times it's for the social aspect or entertainment value. I hope that a Membership here is something you enjoy and want to be apart of, but if not, for what ever reason that's fine to, there are a lot of things/places I don't pay for for. But for what it's worth, the Moderator's and myself do our best to make this place as friendly and entertaining as possible while still keeping the drama as low as we can.

Well said, and let me clarify as my first post may have been a little blunt. I don't have a problem with the memberships one bit. I just simply don't have a cost justification for it because I've never been one to post up in the lounge, even years ago before the paid membership went into effect.

Whatever it takes to keep CK5 alive and strong is great with me. :thumb: Oh and P.S., I do feel bad about deserting my moderator duties in the body shop forum a few years back, I should have checked in on a regular basis to make sure everything was fine, since that is what I was asked to do, and for that I apologize.:doah:

I'll pay. Allows people to actually talk and trust each other a bit.

Paying members were the people that could come to my dunefest party. Jesse had a box of shirts that he spent over $600 to have made for the party. People came and just put there $15 in the box that was just out in the open of the shop all day/night. The next morning I walked out and there was over $450 in it and a lot of people hadn't even showed up yet.

Pretty cool to be able to trust people with that imo. And that feeling is very mutual at our dune party.

So quit the bitching :flipoff7:

That makes plenty of sense to me. I don't usually go into areas of the site that I couldn't go for free either. For me though, the cost is minimal and I want to contribute to making sure the site stays here and active. Could I find the information I need elsewhere most likely, but I like it here. :dunno:

I actually do run another forum (unrelated topic) so I know how the costs and time can add up. We had to par down a lot of stuff eventually because the time investment just wasn't worth it anymore. A lot of our regulars were pretty upset when features started going away but ad revenue wouldn't cover costs and no one else wanted to pony up the dough.
