Hello.

Its time to buy new shocks for my 90 Jimmy with a 4" lift. I use the truck for daily driving, mild to moderate off-roading and light towing. The pro-comp ES9000 and ES3000 as well as the Rancho RS5000 are about the same price and within my budget.

Reading up on these three, they seem about the same as far as function, durability and price.

I am looking for input and suggestions on the true differences as well as good and bad experiences any of you have had with them.

Thanks
Kilroy

get mono tubes. i think th rancho's are triple. the pro comp 9000's might be good. i had the 5000's before, pretty stiff.

RS5000 = stiff as hell... I had a set back in my younger, more ignorant days... and will never own another rancho shock again. I know, the 9000s are supposed to be nice... but any comp that would put their name on a dog like the 5000 aint getting my $. I'm goin to monotubes after the 52 spring swap.

Pro comp and Rancho are the same shock. Both made by Monroe.
thats what i thought, but is the pro comp 3000 and 9000 the same too?

i put rs5000's on my pickup a few years ago, and my k5 had them when i bought it. they handled the rocks, sand, and mud just fine this afternoon, and on my daily driver pickup, they have a very nice highway feel. not squishy like factory shocks, but not so tiff that bumps are jarring.
