Has anyone used Pro Comp series 97 or 98 steel wheels? I want to get the 17x9's, but want to ensure the backspacing they offer is good and there is a decent rim bead on them.

It's decent and pretty typical but order 5 cause they arent the straightest wheels ever made. What bolt pattern?

This is how they look in 17x9 8x6.5 on one tons. Rears have spacers.

It'll be just like yours; 17x9", 8x6.5 pattern, running 37's. Is there a decent bead lip on the wheels? Looks like the backspacing of 4.5" is good too. Thanks!! Nice looking rigs.

I just ordered some 97's
I will be reporting once I get them on

I look forward to it. Where'd you order them from, and a basic question...what is the difference between the 97's and 98's?

wheels87k5: what backspacing is on yours with 37's? I thought they only came in 4.5", but then saw some with 3.5". I just want to make sure I go the right way.

I had these in the 16x9, 4.5" backspace and it cleared 1-tons just fine. So you should be more than ok with 17's. I added beadlocks though. I was running 42's on them

EDIT: now that I think about it, I think I was running the same wheels on my M1009, but 16.5s with 37" hummer tires. They were also just fine

Surprising since it seems they push Pro Comp products A LOT! You'd think they'd have better availability. I am torn between running closed or open ended lug nuts this next round.

Which part number did you order? I can log in and check availability for you.

I just checked and first I ordered the 87 series not 97.
Second they have not processed the order yet, no estimated shipping date yet.
I will check my card see if they charged me yet, if not I am calling customer service in the morning and if they will not ship within 24 hours I am cancelling the order.

I ended up ordering a set. Pro Comp 97's, 17"x9" with 4.25" backspacing. They were straight too out of the box, even though the UPS guy was a little rough with them. Mounted 37"x12.5"r17" Milestar Patagonia MT's on them and used airsoft pellets for balancing. I ran them on the street today for about 50 miles and it was smooth and quiet. I'm looking forward to getting them out in the dirt on Memorial Day weekend!!
