**Solution: the thin metal disc has a convex/concave shape to it, I had it in convex in, should be convex out. That's what keeps the metal from closing the contact, and creates the spring that returns the horn button.**
I did a search and found various threads on the topic, but nothing really clarified the re-assembly of the horn button for '72.
I'm confused about what keeps the thin metal disc from contacting the metal behind it. Also, what springs the horn back out?
I have all the pieces, I think: metal disc, metal 'cup', plastic ring that holds the screws. One thread mentioned a plastic ring, but I don't remember seeing that when I tore into it the other day?
Thanks, in advance, for the help!
