i have 1977 blazer just got a used intrument cluster and it doesnt have the manual oil sending unit it has the electric how do i go about wiring one of these up.i have pics if anyone wants to see what im talking about

You need the sending unit for an electric gauge. I'm not sure if you can wire it directly to one of the three posts on the back of the gauge, or if you have to go through the printed circut.

The sending unit goes on the back of the motor, to the right (drivers side) of the distributor. The should be a line running to the port for the mechanical gauge, take it out and install the sending unit.

I think the easier option would be to use the mechanical gauge. Unless you're woried about the faces not matching.

Look at the back of the cluster. Find the three copper strips that feed the oil pressure gauge. Figure out which is power and which is ground (both power and ground are normally shared between multiple gauges and lights), which then will leave the one that is the sending unit wire.

Need a pin for the instrument panel (IP) connector pigtail out of the wrecking yard or wherever, and solder your sending unit wire to that, and put the pin in the correct cavity in the IP connnector.

Now, that is assuming that ALL of the rest of the wiring is the same between the two clusters, and I suspect it's not, that the IP connector may need to be rewired for the newer cluster. You have to compare the two printed circuits to figure it out.
