Problem with rebuilt 205

New setup. Rebuilt 205 behind a rebuilt 4l80e. I can't seem to get the transfer case to do anything other than shift between 4 wheel drive and neutral.

What do the shift rods look like for each of the gear sets? As best I can tell if both shift rods are pushed all the way in would be 4 low. Both one click out would be neutral. Then the rod that controls the rear would be one more click out for 2 hi and then the rod for the front would come forward for 4 hi.

Is that correct and does that make since?

The only thing I could think of could be whoever rebuilt the transfer-case could have forgot to put the interlocking pins in.

Four low.

Neutral

Two wheel drive.

Four wheel high.

later model shift linkage with interlock pins in 2wd.
