I have to turn the key once, then twice then it fires up. Why is it not firing up on the first crank. I replaced the ignition cylinder a few months back but thats it. I have also noticed when the tilt is straight not all the way up it starts on the first crank.

Does anything in the cab come on? Could the switch that is on the column under the dash be loose and moving up and down when you turn the key vs having the switch moved?

You did the ignition cylinder, but you didn't do the ignition switch?

Try replacing the switch too, that was an issue on my '86

I replaced the switch also twice but it does the same thing. I guess its not to bad I can deal with it.
