proceedure for lowering tcase...

is it as simple as using jackstands to hold the tcase up...unbolting it, putting the spacers between the xmember and frame, and bolting it back up?

i used a floor jack and it was cake.

wow sapper, our rigs look a lot a like. Nice truck! ;)

thanks for the response. when ya remove the bolts is the thing still relatively stable because its mated to the tranny/engine still? Just wanna make sure I dont drop this thing on myself or anything, LOL.

Do one side at a time. Loosen both sides so that there is some play in there to move things around. That should keep things more stable.

Curious: Why are there spacers there in the first place? Couldn't GM have left the spacers out and just used the ol' bolt/nut method without the spacer?
 
I dunno...but I am glad that the engys at GM did it the way that they did! =p
