Giving you guys a heads up on an upcoming new release.

We're doing these door panels in three pieces for a couple different reasons but most importantly so they can be put on and taken off again with little effort.

One thing about our trucks that has always bothered me was the ridiculous process for removing the door panel. You know what I mean. You gotta lift it up to get it out of the window channel but you really need to go forward to get away from the door handle, but you also need to pull it out to get past the window crank stud. So you end up doing this "lift at an angle twist and pull sort of thing. Then, there is the plastic serrated plugs that get destroyed and seems some need to be replaced every time or maybe they'll be OK, only to pop loose some few miles down the road. Well no more!

This is a very early prototype but you can see where we're headed. The top portion will be separate as well as the box around the door handle. We'll get more into the assembly of it all as we get the other pieces mocked up and adjusted to a production quality.

There will be a lot of customizing happening here. Lower panels will be available as an option. Speaker holes, map pockets and other storage devices. Of course an electric version will be available as well.

Working on door pulls and an option for an arm rest that goes where we all really want the arm rest to be. Up on the top rather than at your waist line.

At any rate, this is all still very early. Stay tuned and we'll keep things updated as regularly as possible.

cool stuff fabman!
I think there are different depths to them as well, for earlier trucks (pre 81?)

Awesome, can't wait to see how they turn out. Any plan for fabric of any kind? Seems like you would be burning your arm a lot.

We're moving along so it shouldn't take to long. Got the door latch handle box almost complete. Need some hardware to show up for that. Last piece is the top by the window channel.

Then we'd be in a position to reproduce but still yet to address the door pull handle and arm rest. Better figure a couple weeks to a month at the outside. Then we'll still have to figure out a few year differences. Looks like this panel would fit 77-87. The 73-76 are all together different.

As far as pricing goes, haven't put a number to anything yet.

Very cool man! One thing to look into would be lowering the top trailing edge so that it will work with full convertible swapped trucks. The factory panels on the later model trucks have to be cut to work with the chopped down window frame. If these were "pre-cut" they'd work for both full vert and half top trucks.

Super cool man. Last I looked, decent replacements were unobtainium. I painted my old junky ones, but the vinyl paint isn't adhering as well to the plastic. Anyway, I'll be keeping an eye on this.

I know you have the full replacement dash now, but I wonder if there is any way to do something along these lines with the dash area too - something less intense that allows us to keep factory gauges, but get rid of cracked vinyl and plastic.

Peel all the vinyl, plastic, and foam off of it. Tape the openings from the rear with the aluminum tape and bed line the entire dash pad metal under structure.

Yea I didn't see this first go around, I'd be up for a set for my Prerunner..

We're ready to cut another test fit piece. Just a matter or scheduling now. Gotta keep the orders rolling through.
