Well started out to be a good day but ended in a few problems. First lets take a look and see how she has turned out with the axle swap, beadlocks and tires.

Well tried to attach pics but file is too largeand gallery is down. The more I play with this board the more I hate it.

Anyways, got most of the small stuff done like vent tubes for pumpkins, steering stabilzers on, pumpkins filled with gear oil etc. etc.

Went to put the rear driveshaft to the pumpkin and ended up breaking a bolt off in the yoke so now have to order a new set of the U-Bolt type straps to hold the U-Joint on the yoke. Well went to fire it up and straighten the wheels and well couldn't get the key to turn over, tried a little bit of muscle but didn't budge plus I didn't want to screw up the column. So I commence to take apart the column and got that all straightened out in there. It was just binding up with the pin in the wheel .

While doing the vent tube in the front I noticed that my engine crossmember is cracked. So there will be another project when I pull the motor out in a month or so. Anyone know of any company that makes new crossmembers?

Check out the link below for pics.

Man, that thing is looking good!! :saweet:

You had mentioned it sagged in the rear but it looks level in the pics, did you do something else to it? If it's an illusion, what did you decide to do, add-a-leaf or flip?

I didn't do anything. I think I was just looking at the wheel wells and not the body line. May sag a little bit, (1/2"), but not very much. Not going to really worry about it anymore. Have alot more to do in the coming months before my trip to Tellico.

Nice Job!

I didn't see anything in LMC, you might want to call them 1-800-541-8525.

Thanks for reminding me about that. Should fix it right up and handle the semi new motor.

no prob.. i've eyeballed it a few times..

may consider it when i do my thorleys... be nice to have it "cleaned up" down there already when i figure out what i'm doing with susp/x-over, etc...

Just FYI, I noticed that UAO85 has an engine crossmember for sale (CHEAP) -
