Project: Agent Orange

Does it have a texture to it, or is it flat like paint? Line-X has a texture so it is not slippery when wet?

Yes, it has texture.

Hopefully it lies down more like Linex than Rhino Liner, never cared for the Rhino Liner product.

Can't imagine it won't be slippery given the right condition's, it'll still be painted with a base/clear and will have a glossy finish.

Having just done somthing similar with Al's liner, make sure you have a big air tank when spraying. More pressure+volume = finer texture similar to linex.

Yep, read that in the direction's...yeah I read em.

I've got an 80 gallon upright twin cylinder 5hp 220v compressor, should work okay. ;)

Thanks for the input, definetly don't want those large curd looking chunks. :haha:

Good thing there's still some POR left in the can...

Had the pleasure of removing the rivets that hold the leaf mount...yeehaw.

Shackle flip is temporarily installed, sits level on it's own now at least.

Not the leaf springs I'll be useing, so no worries about the axles not being centered.

You're not gonna do the bed too?

Yep, the bed gets done next but doing it this way keeps the job to a much more managable size and time frame.

Took close to two hours just to do what I did. :eek1:

Includes set up and such but still, I thought it sprayed S-L-O-W.

Not completely dry in these pics either.

looks nice - what is that a jeep --- sorry had to

that is a sweet gen1

Hey Pat, how ya been?

Heavy 2nd coat.
Setting the t-stat @ 60 degrees for the night so the 2nd coat dries.

First couple pics are of it just after I sprayed it, looks really lumpy.

Last two pics are in the a.m. and it calms down a lot as it dries.

Looks good. I'll be curious to know what it feels like when it's dry.

Feels like...? I'll try to describe it...

Fairly smooth with dimples, not rough or sharp to the touch.

Couple pics out in the sunshine, 'pre' ceramic coating.

I meant whether it's got any "compliance" or "squishyness" to it, or is it more like an epoxy coating that's rock hard?

:haha:...sorry.

The sound control is realitively hard, matter of fact I found some 'spill' material that had dried and I was able to snap it (break it) apart.

While I was climbing around doing the ceramic layer, you could see where I was scuffing the 1st layer with my shoes too, I don't think I'd want to use in un-painted, to answer the question...yeah it seems hard.

When the ceramic layer dries, I'll throw out the feed back on that but I'll say already that of the two, spraying the ceramic was the worse.

Ceramic coat is fairly dry now, not quite dry enough to poke and find out if it's pliable or not...yet.
