Yeah so anyways.
What do ya think so far?

Might as well add my goals in here to.

$1500 budget. Thats done and out wheeling. Wanted 1k but if I link it front and rear then Id be way over budget.

Linked front and rear, maybe just rear not 100% sure right now.

Around 3500lbs once done minus driver

I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I would like to make happen on this project. Ones a nifty way to get around drilling and tapping the pside knuckle. Another is a power booster of sorts. I really want to see if I can bring out some good fab skills on this thing.

Costs so far 5/10/07
-$60 -Cab
-$100 -Motor
-$30 -Headers
-$150 -4 rims, 3 tires

Total $340

Whats going in it.
94 350 out of my old tow rig
TBI
Fuel cell
10 bolt front, welded
12 bolt rear, lockrite
37" swampers
465/205 combo
hydroboost
hydro clutch
Chevy IFS Steering box

Well that all was before I found out we had to be out of our house in 60 days (by july 20th). A few things needed to be changed so that I could get it rolling ASAP. Maybe Driveable if I can find enough parts.

Out goes the full tube frame. In goes a suburban frame.
Out goes my old motor in favor of one thats already running and has all the parts.
Tube will wait a bit.

Got the cab over to my house last night as I needed to clean off the trailer so I can use it this weekend. Tonight I got the frame cut up, the cab off, and the floor mostly cut out. I had to brace up the door opening and across the dash so that it wouldnt get tweaked too much more then it already is. Also whacked the roof a bit more and got some more of the dents out.

Just trying to get some stuff done and the project started with out spending money.

Another update. Got a free suburban third seat. Who would of thought that it fits perfectly in the cab once you remove the arm rest. I mean you cant get a better fit. It will most likely sit a tad higher but I wont know that till I have the frame built and the drive train in.

Ill cut the frame down once I have the motor mounted and the cab on it.

More work done today.
Before the sawzall and welder.

This is the fit at the front of the cab to the frame.....on both sides. Too bad I think Im going to have to cut it out. I need to lower the front 4 inches to sit on the frame lower.

Motor is about an inch off to the passenger side, its just sitting in there. I need to fab some motor mounts and maybe move it back a few inches.

Ummm yeah the cab is kinda narrow.

subscribed, you got a hell of a deal on that cab. What is it, like a 34,35 chevy

As far as I can tell its a 36-37 Chevy Truck cab. If you say its a hell of a deal. I got it as the cab and frame. The cab had some nice big dents in the roof, bullet holes (hence the name), and a lot of rust. Ended up tossing the frame as it looks like the front part sat under water for the last 20 years.

Color pictures are no fun.

Please tell me your keeping the bullet holes, ya gotta keep em :D

He said "Colour" :D

Keep in mind if you mount your seat that far back you are gonna want some type of head rest/pad or wear helmets:haha: Won't take much of a bump to put a knot on the back of your noggin'. Friend used to have an old bench seat Toyota P-U. All he had to do from a stop is to pop the clutch a little to gain your attention:laugh::laugh:

If I get rid of the bullet holes then there goes the project name. :doah:

Motor mounts are done. The hitch pins are temporary till I get the right bolts.

Rear discs are done.

I set the seat in to see how its going to feel....well its tight. Tall people are going to hate it.
