found a really decent grill for 10 bucks, head light besels were 10 bucks for the pair and the guy tossed in the wiring harness for the duals and the metal buckets with trim rings for free:laugh:

sanded down with some pumice scrub, and some grey scotch brights, cleaned, then shot down some 06 acuara grey paint that was left over from a bumper job, kind of a metalic gun metal grey and some a couple coats of a mild clear. I think it gives it a updated or modern look of the greys like on the new chevy truck grills?

not much $$$$$ for a fresh look, need a to find a dual headlight core suport before I can mount it since my set up in currently single head lamp.

maybe this weekend ill shoot the primer and start blocking for the paint..

not that any one will believe it, but with all this effort I really dont have an interest in wheeling this thing when she is done lol maybe some dirt or the lake but noooo amigo trails.

It's amazing how much you can change a look with just some elbow grease, and some paint. :D

I dont use standard bondo, I use fiberglass, after that pic is was knocked down considerably, its just hot here and the stuff dries quick so ay it thick and have plebty of shaping to do at one time, just had an issue do to the lip that was damaged. also with a sturdy fender and the metal work behind it I can doubt the fender will have much flex,

metal work/repair
fiberglass
rock sliders atached to body, cab supports and that panel
and a cage
new body mounts..

ive done all my previous body work this way, no problems thus far, but I would agree a truck with massive frame flex, shot body mounts, tire rubbing or impacts from rocks/trees would crack, add rust and a crappy metal fix below and its asking to fail, ill post dome pics of how it is now after the filler was knocked down.

sadly hit some crapy times with the $$$$$, mostly mecdical bs and I am self imployed so it hits harder,

the 71 got sold off right after I made it drivable,

as for membership, that crossed my mind, id say sometime real soon :)
