Hey guys. It's been forever since I've posted anything on here. It's actually been over 5 years since I've owned a blazer, but I've caught the bug again. Now I have to have another one. Lol

I've owned 2 K5's and I miss them both a lot. A 86 was my very first car. Bought it with paper route money when I was 14. Drove it all through high school. My next was a 1990 K5. Bought it as a graduation present to myself. Loved that rig. Did the typical 4inch lift and 33" tires. Put a canback canvas top on it. Had a lot of fun with both trucks. Unfortunately NY salt wasn't kind to each of them. I replaced my last one with a mint 99 2 Door Tahoe. Loved the Tahoe. Drove nicer. Was more powerful. More luxurious by a long shot. And when I owned the K5s I always lusted after the 2 Door Tahoes. So I honestly thought I was done with K5s. Sold the Tahoe a few years back for a pickup truck when I wanted a better tow rig. So that was that. My full size 2 Door suv days were over. Or so I thought.

I was checking through my local Craigslist and came across a used Hallmark pop-up for a K5. I immediately thought back to my old Blazers. I always thought the Chalet and Casa Grande were cool. Now in front of me was a camper shell for one. I've never seen one for sale before. Now I want a blazer again in the worst way. I'm going to look at that camper and if it's not in horrible shape I'm buying it. Lol.

So my idea with my blazer(That I don't even own yet. Lol) is a all around recreational vehicle. Light trail, overland rig. I really want a 6.2 powered blazer. I know theirs a lot of haters but I've got some experience with them and the 6.5. My idea is for a reasonably fuel efficient Blazer that I can travel with and do some light wheeling. Even camping in remote areas. Also that I can pull the camper shell out of and cruise around on nice days with the top off.

If all goes as planned in a week or so I'll own a pop-up camper shell for a blazer. Then the hunt will be on for the truck. I know, I know. Cart before the horse but I gotta jump on this. Lol

I'm sure this project will take a while and constantly evolve but I Hope to keep a log of it on here. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

Names Rob by the way...

Welcome back and your plan sounds like a good one. Hope the camper works out and you find a nice blazer to go under it.
