Gotta love the yellow chromate. Lots more parts coming yet and when its all together we'll get on with the chassis/suspension assembly.

Oh man this is gonna be good. So what's the process to Yellow chromate, dip, spray?

EDIT: I just noticed what looks to be like an adjustable rear spring mount. Very cool!

Process for yellow chromate is, box up parts and load on truck!:haha: I don't know the exact process but it involves alot of the same stuff as chroming does. A cleaning dip and then several plating dips. These were done with one extra process to further prevent any corrosion for road salts and calcium. I just called the platers and told them what I was doing and what I expected and they came through.

The adjustable rear hanger has been all over the country and has come back to us again so heck with it. I"ll bolt them on! It's a one ton conversion hanger with adjustability.

Stockk5, haven't gotten to my email yet but will be shortly.

well I hear he has ordered all the stuff to "DONK" the presidential limo I figure gold on a 4x4 would match.

LMAO Im just givin ya crap bro
I alctually kinda like it it looks more like those titanium plated bolts than gold, at least to me. Would look good with gun metal grey. AND RIVITS!

I feel ya dog!

Seriously though, it is the same coating as what is on bolts. A big reason for the plating was for the visibility.

Chromate is a yellowish orange powder that is mixed with water and heated with steam to almost a boil then the parts are dipped in it. I worked at a company named Parker, that made hose and fittings. Some of the fittings would get this treatment besides the cadmium base plating.
It will wear off easily if you don't clear it.

These were electro plated. It might actually be called yellow zinc.

Cool! I had forgot about this. Nice to see your still movin on it.

Yep, movin' ahead. Got to get some axles ready to go and then we'll make some more progress. All of it has to come inbetween all the other projects. Crew cab needs to be painted and gotten out of the shop. It's just too damn long. Of course customer needs come before all of it.

The stuff we used went on after the parts were cad plated, this stuff you got might be different.

Next batch that goes up, I'll get some more details to add to the knowledge base. Maybe I can go up and take some photos of the process. Not sure if they'd let me or not. I'm sure there are insurance issues.

Hey! Those hangers made a stop to my residence a few months ago. Unfortunately, I have a K5 frame instead of K10.
Looking good, however. Now hurry up and put everything on the chassis so we can drool over the end result.

Looks like these are going on a show/display truck......if so why not a bumber center, Razor Back diff covers and the Raptor? Or all your major parts? Can't wait to see the outcome.
