Uncle Pops worked at Oak Ridge for his entire career as a nuclear physicist. Found this ice scraper in the glove box.

The older I get the more I LOVE the way 60's cars were sooo roomy. Big door, big door openings, bench seats, no center consoles, the dash doesn't hang unnecessarily low, not a single cup holder and it was OK!

2.5h this morning got me here.

Also sport weld cutters, the annular cutter / rots broach is worth it. I tried a HF for kicks, it made three cuts and dulled out, the second side shattered when it first grabbed. Middle pic is a "titanium". Whatever, you'd need a mag drill to keep it from walking. It's also too short and weirdly sized. The last one lets you come in at a slight angle and twist the angle around to hog out the hole. I got at least 25 welds out of it so far.

Last stop is front driver side. I should just use kitchen shears.

I've ordered a TCI Mustang II front. Then I tore out the front suspension. It's just hanging on by the steering box. I didn't know off hand how to remove it. I kind of blew my knee up, so I'm having trouble with the close to the ground stuff. Hopefully meds will clear this up this week.

Uncle Pop is already asking when it's going to be done, lol.

Going back through the pics I just noticed how far that passenger door opens, a full 90*! So cool!

Plans for the 302? Mild, pissed off or full on hangry? :burnout:

Yeah the hinge is boggled up on that door, it doesn't catch it from hitting the fender.

Edelbrock says 384 hp and 340 ft/lbs. Not sure what the car weighs, but I think it'll get around.

Today we took a road trip to Atlanta Dragway for a swap meet. I bought two wrenches for me and a Tom and Jerry book for La Bandita.
Then we booked it up to Gaffney SC and picked up a new axle. It's set up for Chevy 5x4.75 and is running Spacers for whatever the common Ford pattern is, 5x4.5? Maybe? It was on a mustang. Brembo brakes, and 31 spline. WMS is 56. The TCI front ships with Chevy rotors that are 5x4.75"

Speaking of TCI, when we got home the box man had paid us a visit. The front end from TCI came in. It's like 8 boxes.

Point of no return, cut out the shock towers.
i just need to get the sway bar brackets. Vendor says to cut out the strut rod mount which is circled in red. The picture on their site is so bad I cant tell if I am to cut the whole brace or just the mount which is underneath.
Also inventoried the boxes. I’m one box short, missing a spindle + brake. Nine had been shipped, not eight. Maybe fed ex finds it tomorrow. The most wrecked box was sway bar and steering rack. Parts look ok but the bag o fasteners is missing at least one of everything.
I don’t see how you expect to put thirty pounds of steel in a card board box, the padding on top and ship it without the bottom blowing out. Anyhow.
