Ok picked this up 6/4/15 MY first K5 Blazer :)

Not sure how to start this but here is what I know so far and how I bought it.

87 Blazer for $800
Engine 350 with miss matched valve covers and was switched to carb from tbi
Trans 700r4 with reverse * haha forward gears don't work*
T-case - imagine its a np204 but front drive shaft is unbolted so might not work
12 bolt diffs also unsure of gearing but definitely no lockers
Suspension - 6" leafs with 8 tough country shocks
35x12.5 on centerline 15's

The frame is in good shape with minimal surface rust. However the body is in terrible shape. and alot of the previous owners work is very bad.

My goal for this k5 is a quiet and dead reliable hunting/beach truck that i can drive to work sometimes and bash at the ranch on the weekend. And look cool doing all that

Doesn't look like all that bad a start.... got the same rust as mine does right now.

Ok got some work done on the blazer today.

The transmission has no forward gears so i crawled under there today and pulled the transfer-case and tranny out. Luckily it just got done raining so the ground was soft enough to drop them straight down. because my jack does not reach high enough to lower it.

and picked up my heater/blower motor parts

cleaned up the tranny and set it next to the donor

And checked the tag on the t-case

Small progress today.

I went to the local parts store and got a quadrajet rebuild kit. well come to find out it was the wrong one. so i ordered a kit. in the mean time i cleaned her up a bit.

this i s what i used to clean it. Works pretty good.

had to work on the Camaro rest of the day. The intake was leaking around the back so got that sealed back up.

thanks for looking but the service advisor at my work has racecars and had tried Alamo and had bad results. I have to go to san Antonio if I want one.
