FINALLY!!!!!!!!! a magazine is building a suburban! i just wish it was a 73-91 so i could copy them.

I know, I saw it. Just do what would be nice to do and everything they are doing to the Gen 1 burb, do to yours /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

nah, i think they should have gone with a shackle flip instead of springs.

Cause I tow a 32 ft travel trailer with. Maybe one of these days I'll get another and so some serious mods to it and keep this one for towing.

It's about time someone built a 67-72 burb. I bet that is the first ever to be featured in a magazine. You guys with 73-up trucks get to see your stuff all the time. That burb is sweet and I am definately keeping an eye on this build up.

yeah i'm glad to see that someone's buildin a sub. i just don't know if some of the stuff they're gonna use is applicable to a 73-up, cuz i have NO experience with 67-72 subs.

So far everything they've done can be applied to a 73-up as well. They swapped the 12-bolt out for a van 14bff. Swapped 8-lug stuff onto the front Dana 44 with an OX locker......6" lift....35" Pro Comp Xterrains...etc /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

The Ox locker looks cool as hell. Being able to just shift the lever and have the front or rear diff locked would be awesome. I haven't heard too much real world expereince yet so who knows how good they are. I also wish the price would come down so maybe I could try one for myself. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

oh i thought you already had one. sorry. oh and i agree. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

IF YOU WANT SELECTABLE LOCKERS CHECK OUT THE "E" LOCKER FROM EATON. YOU JUST FLIP A SWITCH AND IT ATIVATES AN ELECTRO MAGNET AND POW, LOCKED UP BABY! SO FAR THE TEST LOOK BETTER THEN ANYTHING OUT THERE. AND THEY BUILT IT FOR THE CHEVY CORP AXLES FIRST. I'M SERIUOSLY CONSIDERING THEM WHEN I GET THE MONEY.

According to the folks at Eaton, there won't be an E-locker for the 14-bolt FF until 2004 at the earliest. /forums/images/icons/mad.gif

Just think how nicely thy'ld work with the nice electric hubs our trucks all came with. Makes you wonder /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif My uncles 99 burb came with a factory electric locker. Seems to work good.

my cousin has an OX in his jeep, and he likes it. hasn't really had any problems at all, with exception of occasionly needing to rock the jeep a little to get it to engage, but when he locks it, its solid.

I've thought about getting an ox for my truck, but since I want to drop a D60 up front, have been holding off on one until I decide for sure... ( no real reason to upgrade the hell out of an axle I'm going to sell)

I recently read that Ox has changed the design so that the engagement mechanism is spring loaded. This way it doesn't have to be perfectly aligned before the coupler will engage. You can just move the lever and as soon as the splines line up, it will lock itself. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
