Propane consumption?

Thanks, I was just about to ask about this.

I've been looking for some type of electric or manual switch to change tank to tank from inside the cab. Anyone ever find anything?

Back by the tanks put a t in run a fitting to each tank, Leave both tanks in the on position. On each of the lines add an electric fuel lockoff, Run the lockoff wires to the cab. If you use the low fuel light you can just put the two toggle switches next to them, light goes on means one switch on the other goes off. That also means tho when the light comes on twice you have about a gallon in each tank or so. Still tho keep the lockoff up front by the motor tho, just for extra safety.

What i would do is don't buy anything and see how it fires. The impco carbs i'm not familiar with so maybe they will be easier starting. If it turns over too many times and you have an electric lockoff then turn the key on and go out and push the primer button on the model e. Then start it... If that does the trick then just either pick up the electric or cable primer. (Or open the hood each time and push the button....lol..) I only have the cable primer on one and it fires decently, within 5 turns.

Do you have a build here for this..? I'd like to see what all is in the kit cary sold you, he seemed like a good guy when i called. He lost me tho saying he never sold the carbs i have and the guy i got my 1st setup from(used) had the receipt...

Oh are you using dual carbs or dual fuel..? If you look in my pics i have a 14 inch air cleaner that fits 2 carbs that is a custom fit for the impco dual adapter. I just bought the base and used my air cleaner instead of buying it all.
I don't have a build unfortunately, probably should some day. This truck is 5+ years in the making. I've got a lot of pictures in my media gallery. I'll attach a couple. The kit I have is the "high performance kit" from Got Propane its the dual carbs(mixers) with the adaptor like you have with one 850 base plate. Everything was new good quality. Cary was really good to deal with. The kit actually has everything that you see on his website. (you have to dig a little to find the picture on the site) The kit actually comes with more fuel line fittings than what you'd need, 90s,45s and straights. I made an air cleaner base and just used a standard 14" air cleaner also.

blazooki, awesome build. I need to come on here more often. I miss all these good builds.

Broflow.....Should patch together some pics and do a thread... Nice job on the firewall mount, alot cleaner than mine. Also the air filter base looks real good, i paid 30.00 for mine. It doesn't have that nice lip for the filter on the bottom tho. (What i did to get this tuned in nice was buy a wideband afr gauge kit, comes with an 02 sensor and gauge. You can dial it in pretty good then, i have my idle richened up some so it starts easier. Then also under load you can make sure the fuel ratio is where it needs to be.)

I haven't updated my 83 in years, really haven't driven it either. I start it once a month to make sure it starts and moves. My 03 straight axle tho has taken up all my extra time, the 83 is coming soon tho...real soon. Honestly i was really thinking of removing the 358 and doing an ls turbo motor but dunno...i like to be different and the dual carb propane gets peoples attention..lol
