I am converting my truck to propane and was thinking. Instead of oxy act some guys use oxy propane. If you could use your in truck tank and get a small oxy bottle you could have a torch in your truck all the time. plus you could maybe air a tire but stright oxy would scare me. Of course I have heard of guys filling up a tire with propane in a pinch so maybe it would be OK.

I'm not sure about filling your tires with propane would be a good idea (OBA is cheap enough) But having torch on your truck is a good idea but remember you can also weld with that set up too, which is a better idea........now you have me thinking:rolleyes:

Great idea for torch and welding, but never play with oxygen for filling anything. Pure oxygen will self ignite with petroleum products even without an ignition source.

Just don't repair yourself right out of gas!

The only good news is oxy/propane set-ups use very little propane. That is what we have on our service truck. I would say we go through4 or more large oxy bottles to one 20lb propane bottle.

3 things:
Heat
fuel
air (oxygen)

If you remove one of them you don't have fire so your idea may be right but you have incorrectly stated it.

At least I think?:confused::doah::(

Actually now they teach the fire square:

1.heat
2.fuel
3.oxygen
4.chemical reaction.

In the case of oil & oxygen, the oxygen is such an accelerant that room tempature is enough heat to allow the oil to burn.
