So I just started to hear a slight whine from the T-Case in my 73K20. Figured I would pick up some fluid after work on the way home. I dont trust any of the guys at Kragen or Autozone around here since all they know is how to push keys on a computer. Whats the proper "oil" to use in a NP205? It usually leaves a couple small drips on my driveway.

I pulled a '205 out of a Ford once, it had ATF in it. Also my ex-air force '88 crewcab had ATF in it when I got it. Switched it over to synthetic 75w-90.

depends if it is leaked into by an auto or a stick tranny. if auto atf if stick 80/90. if no leaks then 80/90 for sure :dunno:

Newer 205's use ATF if you can believe it...although I'm not sure exactly when that started I'm guessing it was the mid 80's.

Yup, my '88 was filled with atf. We never changed any seals and have never added any fluid to the trans in over 4 years.
