Alright i got my stock 10b Front and rear w/stock 3.08 gearing. I now run 33s and am not to impressed with my acceleration. What would the proper gears be for my truck. I was thinking 4.11s but I really dont know what im talking about.:haha:

I've tried Petersens 4 wheel mag's calculator and it says i need 3.11's. If it is that close, do I realy Need to spend the money?

Heres my specs:

350 SBC
th400
np208
10b F. and R.

3.73's or 4.11 with 33"tires should do ya fine, i ran 3.73's for awhile, was much better than 3.42's so i would imagine it would be a significant increase in performance with yours.

4.11 would probably be your best bet though, unless you plan on going with bigger tires.

Right now i am running a 34" some odd inch tire with 4.11's, it does ok around town, 3rd gear is revin a bit high when it downshifts from OD on the freeway at 75 though, kinda thinkin i should have 4.56's in it.

A buddy of mine is runnin 33's with 3.73's and he seems to like them.

im running 3.08's and 35's right now... lemme tell ya... you wont ever get a racing ticket or something of the sort to that effect...:doah: 4.56 would be awesome for me... but i dont see the point in regearing 10 bolt axles

I'll just start with a can of worms..... Best thing I can say see if anyone has the gears you want and same size tire as you. Go for a ride..... I had 3:73 in my 78 and went to 4:56 (running 35's at the time) I feel I should have gone with 4:11). My '74 has 4:11 (stock) and running 33's. Seams to be a good combo

But like I said go for a ride or drive (if possible) with what you think you want. Remember a non-OD trany is defferent than your th400, and a 208 feels deferent than a np203 or np205.....
