I am replacing the shaft seal inside of the t-case adapter due to transmission getting low on oil and t-case being overfilled. There are obviously two different sides to the seal and I need to know which way the seal should face. I have replaced this thing once and either damaged it putting it in or put it in the wrong way. Please help.

we need more info. what kind of tranny and tcase to make sure we give you the correct info.

but with seals its the open side were you can see the spring around the rubber to the oil side.

all of the info is in my signature. So the open/spring side goes forward?

if it is the seal that goes on the input of the t-case, the spring side will go into the t-case.

thank you guys. it is the seal in the adapter on the t-case side.
