Prototype Blazer in Clay 50 Years Ago...WOW great article

Pretty cool how the concept wheel openings pictured were square similar to the 73+ but even more like the current body style(s).

The reason they didn’t go with that is the cost of tooling wouldn’t pay back the projected sales , so they revamped the project using the existing pickup platform ........and the rest is history!

Like it or not, it is part of the history of our trucks. Is does look like they used that design for the Brazilian Chevy Veraneio

Not to confuse the issue, but could the blazers that made it into production (with the exception of the current) be also considered shortened versions of the suburban, rather than a shortened truck? If not, then was this idea considered?

2) Did Vic Hickey have anything to do with the concept of the production blazer (not necessarily the prototype in the article)?

The bad news is,,,,,,,,the new blazer,,is out now,,I'm at the chevy right now and there all over the place red, blue, white, o.m.g

Just remember, it isn't a K5. But let's hope that they actually are a great car and sell a lot. Not only would that be great for GM but it would generate interest in the Blazer history and maybe Chevy jumps on board with a new K5 (K10) on a truck platform. I don't like that they called this a "Blazer" but who knows...maybe there is a silver lining?
