It's been said before but it's worth saying again..... don't ignore safety equipment when you are working on your truck.
It's been many years since my last run-in with metal in the eye... but even WITH goggles things can still go wrong. I got lucky (again) and the doctor was able to remove a tiny metal speck from my eye today and with some anti-biotic drops I will be fine with no vision loss (I still scored slightly better than 20/15 vision on the eye chart!

Monday night I felt a small nick as something hit my eye and wrote it off to a piece of grinding debris that would flush out on it's own. By this morning it was obvious that it wasn't coming out without a doctor's help.
Eye numbing drops are amazing! I'm pretty squeemish when it comes to people messing with my eyeballs with sharp instruments, but I couldn't feel a thing and the particle coming out was like the relief of pulling out an annoying splinter.
Be careful out there lads!
