Just paid for my membership on here again, time to get my truck going.

Gonna be putting in hydroboost even after I've read a lot of people say not to lol. Tired of trying to figure out what works.

So...my question for those of you who have a PSC reservoir, How and where did you mount it in you're engine bay? I've seen people put in on there firewall, on there core support or they just make a bracket of some sort that mounts to their engine somehow.

From what I've read, it has to be close to the power steering pump with as short of hose possible connecting the two together.

So give me you're feedback of what you did, how you did it, what problems you had and how would you do it differently.

I’m mounted to the core support. It’s a fairly straight shot down to the pump.

I mounted mine above my PS pump. As high up as possible. I got it just barely higher than my hydroboost. Works good.

On both of my motors I used a bracket that was mounted to the engine accessory bracketry.

So its essentially mounted to the engine?

It’s been on for bout 7 years with no issues. I’m still on vacuum booster. Hydroboost is immense my future down the road. Runs 40s down the highway and on the trail with narry an issue.

I don’t see how hydroboost will change anything other than I’ll get the parts from psc needed to switch it over and run good.

I'm hoping hydroboost works for me cause vacuum hasn't.

It is mounted to the engine. I mounted my old one on the 5.7l to the engine accessory bracket. I just made up a mount for the reservoir that threaded into that bracket.

My feed hose to the pump is all of 3" and right over top of the pump. this allows the fastest feeding you can get. No gradual slopes down tot he pump etc..

The only thing you're limited by is the hood.

This is a quick pic of my new motor. Unfortunately I had to go with a 90 fitting before the vertical drop. You can see in this setup I have no hose. Just a fitting. But it works good. Sorry for the tight photo, i don't wanna pull the hood off.

I see it but what is IT? I installed hydro boost on a '67 years ago (remote reservoir mounted to fender on BB trucks) and just mounted the HB brake unit where the old vacuum system was located. What is this reservoir for? Shouldn't the HB unit function w/o an added reservoir? The units that came on the 1-tons didn't used to have that is why I'm asking. Is it for hydro-boost steering or just for the brakes?

I did the same exact thing as @Smokinthehippies in the same exact spot. No issues so far. It's a nice straight shot for the fluid to run down out of the reservoir into the pump too.

I made a bracket and mounted it to the inner fender.

I am also running hydroboost. Huge difference in braking ability!
