My most recent truck purchase was a '83 K30 dually.
It has a pto of the transfer case hooked to a hydraulic pump.
Has resivor, fluid filter, and lines run to the rear of the truck.
Not sure what it was used for, but I'm thinking I'm set up to
run a hydraulic winch.

Now need to verify the pump will be the right size for a hydraulic winch.
It is a "Commercial Shearing" pump.
I found their website, but it appears the pump is an older one and they don't list any specs for it.
The model number is: P25X300BY1L15-11BIL15-1
And the serical number is: P5711518

Anybody know anything about this pump?

thanks in advance

From what I can tell that pump is a 15GPM. Have you run the pump yet? In those pumps the brass washers tend to break up and get into your oil. For my line of work that is not good. Overall it should run your winch fine.

Sweet, thanks for the info. I have run the pump, but not hooked anything to it. It's set up with quick connects out back and I don't have anything to hook it to.
I know the input shaft seal leaks, in fact I just drained the system and took the pump off because of the constant drip in my driveway.
When I drained the hydro fluid I didn't see any brass colored junk. Just a little of the 'normal' grayish-black sludge. Not very much tho, just a little stuck to the drain plug.

Can the pumps be rebuild at home, or is it something that is better left to pros?

man, you lucky dog...i have several hydro pumps and been lookin for a pto takeoff to put on mine w/ quick connects, i have several ideas, to fit reciever hitch..log spliter, dredge pump, winch, etc,etc...you can use that for many many diff things!

whats the pump d-shaft like? i was thinkin maybe 1'' square tube and and a/c throttle plunger on a toggle to get rpms up. i'm jealous!

Drive shaft is from the NP205. Drive shaft has U-joints at both ends. PTO exit shaft and pump input shaft both are smooth with a large keyed slot. A set screw on secures the yoke to the shaft via a flat spot. The shaft is round and has a slip joint. Again the slip joint is just a long keyed slot. As such, there is quite a bit of slop in the slip joint; but no slop at the yokes. Maybe the slip joint is just worn.

Hmmm, log splitter. That is a very good idea.

Like I said, I just took it off today. Besides the leak, it hung down lower than my t-case crossmember. I plan on changing the mounting location to snug it up higher. I have to move some other things first. (exhaust for one)

I was planning on taking out the quick disconnects out back, but may leave them now.
Actually, I'll prolly re-route everything, but you get the idea.
