pto info please

i grabed a used winch (see other thread for info also) and it didnt have a pto drive with it. i have searched and come up with the basics. small bolt patern and big patern. small is what we have on are trannys and tcases. if i was to install this pto unit i have used does it matter if its a tranny or tcase specific unit and model specific.

then if i was to bolt it on the tcase would i be able to run the winch in forward or reverse?
