But here is a cool thought. I don't suggest we actually do this, but it would make a great thread to discuss, and a good mental exercise.

This idea would work better if he was in Ca, but here goes:
We have K5 members just about everywhere. Even out of the country.
I am in Fl, so I would probably be out of the loop, but you never know.
What if we set a limit of driving to say an hour each way, and see if there are K5 members enough to "ship" that winch from your place to his.
Just daisy-chain it across country. You take it to a member who is within two hour's drive of you. One hour each way for both of you.
He takes it home, then next chance he gets, he transfers it to another member.
So on and So forth all across the country.
Its the old "degrees of separation thing."
Would not beat UPS or Fedex, but it might give the USPS a run for its money
Again, not suggesting we actually try to do it for real, but if anyone wanted to make up a map and do the math, it would be interesting.
