I can get my hands on a PTO winch for a SM465 4 speed trans. The setup is complete but the guy torched the driveshaft to the winch cause he couldnt get the center bearing off, but its all there. I'm thinking of buying to resell?? He has the front bumper with the winch and the "now" 2 piece driveshaft and the pto gearbox still on the trans but he's keeping the trans. The only thing I could'nt find is the cable that controlled the PTO gearbox. Whats this worth? Anybody interrested? I may just hook you up with him.

If you can find comparable ads for what it is and what they sold for there you are.Otherwise its what its worth to you and you want to flip it so you want to pay less so when all is said and done you make money.Not always easy to do if the seller knows what its worth.

A lot would depend on the make and model of the winch.
I don't argue that electrics have their place and are fine winches.
Heck I used to help build some.
But everything I run is PTO. Would not take anything for mine.
If you think you will ever want a winch, and you can get this one cheap, grab it.
The control cable is easy to come by.
And, SweetK30, as many threads as I see in the garage about buying winches, Its amazing that you don't get any takers.

here, that could go for $500+ i bought my first pto unit for $100 and it was a deal and a half.

But here is a cool thought. I don't suggest we actually do this, but it would make a great thread to discuss, and a good mental exercise.

This idea would work better if he was in Ca, but here goes:
We have K5 members just about everywhere. Even out of the country.
I am in Fl, so I would probably be out of the loop, but you never know.
What if we set a limit of driving to say an hour each way, and see if there are K5 members enough to "ship" that winch from your place to his.
Just daisy-chain it across country. You take it to a member who is within two hour's drive of you. One hour each way for both of you.
He takes it home, then next chance he gets, he transfers it to another member.
So on and So forth all across the country.
Its the old "degrees of separation thing."
Would not beat UPS or Fedex, but it might give the USPS a run for its money
